Founded in 2015 by Hind Laidi, Jood was born out of compassion to bring direct aid to people in need. It started with nightly rounds in Casablanca, where volunteers offered hot meals, clothes, and blankets to the homeless. Just one year later, Jood became an independent nonprofit organization, entirely funded by donations, and soon expanded to several Moroccan cities. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Jood supported over 13,000 families and multiple quarantine centers with food and essential supplies. In 2021, the organization was officially recognized by the National Human Development Initiative as a leading association in the field of street outreach. Following the devastating Al Haouz earthquake in 2023, Jood intensified its work, providing not only emergency relief but also long-term solutions: safe shelters, affordable housing, jobs, and training opportunities. With innovative projects such as the volunteer app “My Jood” and a comprehensive rehabilitation plan for Al Haouz, Jood continues to prove that compassion and commitment can transform entire communities.
